Abstract
The “ASEAN Flagship Voyage: A Performing Arts Tour Across ASEAN” which produced Realizing Rama, was approved by the Committee on Culture and Information (COCI) of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 1997. Realizing Rama opened in Hanoi, Vietnam, in December 1998 during the ASEAN Leaders’ Summit. It toured the ten ASEAN countries in two phases (in 1999 and 2000, respectively), and then extended its tours to Belgium and Germany (in 2001), Korea, India and China (in 2002), Japan (2003), with a final performance in Manila in 2006.
Perspectives in the Arts and Humanities Asia is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year by the School of Humanities of the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines. Multidisciplinary in scope, it welcomes articles in English or Filipino in the following fields: literature, philosophy, theology, performance arts, visual arts, forms of media and other related areas, especially studies engaging Philippine and Asian experience.
