Abstract

Noong unang kalahati ng ika-20 siglo sa malayong bansa ng Rusya (noon ay Unyong Sobyet) ay may pinasimulang sistematikong pagsusuri ng Pilolohiyang Filipino at wikang Filipino (noon ay Tagalog) ang mga pilologong Sobyet ng Mosku at Saint Petersburg. Mula noong dekada 1960 hanggang ngayon, itinuturo na ang Tagalog o Filipino bilang isa sa mga wikang Asyatiko sa Institute of Asian and African Studies (IAAS) ng Lomonosov Moscow State University, at sa Oriental Faculty ng Saint Petersburg State University. Ang mga awtor ng kasalukuyang papel na ito ay kumakatawan sa IAAS ng Moscow State University. Nakapokus ang papel sa kung paano natatanggap ng mga Rusong estudyante ng Philippine Studies ang ilang katangiang kultural na Filipino at kung paano nila ito isinasalamin sa wikang Filipino. Sinubukan ding magkompara ng ilang konseptong kultural na Filipino sa mga katumbas nito sa Ruso.

Some Cultural Concepts in the Filipino Language from the Perspective of a Russian Student

Abstract (English)

In the first half of the 20th century in Russia (then USSR) systematic studies of Philippine Philology and of the Filipino language (then Tagalog) were started by a few Soviet Philologists of Moscow and Saint Petersburg. From the 1960s up to the present, Tagalog or Filipino has been taught as one of the Asian languages at the Institute of Asian and African Studies (IAAS) of Lomonosov Moscow State University, and also at the Oriental Faculty of Saint Petersburg State University. The authors of this paper represent the IAAS of Moscow State University. The paper focuses on how Russian students of Philippine Studies perceive some of the Filipino cultural traits and their reflections using the Filipino language. An attempt is also made to compare some Filipino cultural concepts to their Russian counterparts.
