Abstract

In this article, I suggest that a major reason for slow progress on implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a paradigmatic mismatch: a mismatch between the dominant economistic paradigm with the humanistic paradigm that has borne out the SDGs. I develop a dignity-based perspective as foundation for a paradigm that allows for alignment and present it as humanistic paradigm for business management. I elaborate how a humanistic perspective aligns the notions of responsible management with the SDGs and can accelerate their achievement.
